Full Day-by-Day Itinerary
A gentle first day visiting the Giraffe Centre for a hand-feeding encounter and the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to watch orphaned baby elephants at their mud bath - a memorable, easy introduction to Kenya's wildlife for younger travelers. Overnight in Nairobi.
A shorter, family-paced drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, with a relaxed afternoon game drive and swimming pool time back at the lodge. Overnight on a full-board basis.
Morning game drive at Lake Nakuru, then continue to the Masai Mara with regular rest stops along the way. Overnight on a full-board basis.
A full day of game drives, broken into shorter, more flexible sessions to suit younger children, followed by pool time at the lodge. Overnight on a full-board basis.
An optional, interactive visit to a local Maasai village with bead-making and traditional dancing, followed by an afternoon game drive. Overnight on a full-board basis.
Final morning game drive, then depart the Masai Mara for Nairobi. Lunch at the renowned Carnivore Restaurant before your onward transfer.
Best Time to Visit
Jun-Oct and Jan-Feb for the clearest game viewing and driest roads
High Season - Jun-Oct & Jan-Feb
Dry weather makes for the clearest game viewing, with animals gathering at rivers and waterholes. Masai Mara river crossings peak July-October. Expect busier parks and the highest rates of the year.
Low Season - Mar-May & Nov
The "green season" brings lush scenery, dramatic skies and newborn wildlife, with far fewer visitors and the lowest accommodation rates. Expect afternoon showers, muddier roads and a handful of camps closed for maintenance.
What to Expect
This circuit is paced for families: shorter drive days, lodges chosen for their swimming pools and family rooms, and interactive stops - the Giraffe Centre and Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi - built in alongside the classic Lake Nakuru rhino sanctuary and the Big Five game drives of the Masai Mara.
