Full Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer by private vehicle to Amboseli National Park. Check in at your camp in time for lunch, then head out on your first private game drive across Amboseli's plains, home to some of Africa's largest elephant herds set against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. Overnight on a full-board basis.
A full day of private morning and afternoon game drives across Amboseli, with your own vehicle and guide to follow the action at your own pace. Expect close encounters with Amboseli's famous elephant herds, along with lion, giraffe and, on a clear morning, sweeping views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Overnight on a full-board basis.
Private drive from Amboseli National Park to Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake in the Great Rift Valley known for its resident hippo pods, prolific birdlife and the walking safaris of nearby Crescent Island. Check in at your lodge in time for lunch, with the afternoon free to relax lakeside or join an optional boat safari. Overnight on a full-board basis.
Drive from Lake Naivasha to Lake Nakuru National Park, a compact, fenced sanctuary built around its alkaline lake. Afternoon game drive around the lake shore in search of both black and white rhino, along with, in good years, dense flocks of flamingos. Overnight on a full-board basis.
Continue west across the Rift Valley to the Masai Mara, the northernmost extension of the Serengeti ecosystem, arriving in time for an afternoon game drive. Overnight on a full-board basis.
A full day of private game drives across the Mara's plains, with the best chance of the trip for lion, leopard, cheetah and, in season, the Great Migration. An optional sunrise hot air balloon safari or Maasai manyatta visit can be arranged locally. Overnight on a full-board basis.
Breakfast at your camp, then a private road transfer from the Masai Mara back to Nairobi City in time for your onward flight.
Best Time to Visit
July - October for the Great Migration; dry seasons (Jun-Oct, Jan-Feb) for the clearest game viewing
High Season - Jun-Oct & Jan-Feb
Dry weather makes for the clearest game viewing, with animals gathering at rivers and waterholes. Masai Mara river crossings peak July-October. Expect busier parks and the highest rates of the year.
Low Season - Mar-May & Nov
The "green season" brings lush scenery, dramatic skies and newborn wildlife, with far fewer visitors and the lowest accommodation rates. Expect afternoon showers, muddier roads and a handful of camps closed for maintenance.
What to Expect
This exclusive circuit links four of Kenya's most rewarding destinations with handpicked five-star properties throughout:
Nairobi is your arrival and departure point.
Amboseli National Park is famous above all for its elephants - large, habituated herds that are among the easiest in Africa to observe up close - set against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro on clear mornings.
Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake in the Great Rift Valley, is a scenic overnight stop known for its resident hippo pods, prolific birdlife and the walking safaris of nearby Crescent Island - a rare chance to walk among giraffe, zebra and antelope on foot.
Lake Nakuru National Park is a compact, fenced sanctuary built around its alkaline lake. Expect a strong chance of seeing both black and white rhino, along with leopard, buffalo and, in good years, dense flocks of flamingos along the shoreline.
The Masai Mara is Kenya's best-known reserve, part of the same ecosystem as Tanzania's Serengeti. Visitors come for the Big Five, resident prides of lion, and - from around July to October - the Great Migration, when huge herds of wildebeest and zebra cross the Mara River in search of fresh grazing.
