Masai Mara
Big Cats & MigrationKenya's flagship reserve - superb resident lion, leopard and cheetah year-round, and the wildebeest migration from roughly July to October.
Amboseli
Elephants & KilimanjaroFamous for big-tusked elephant herds set against Mount Kilimanjaro - one of Africa's most iconic photographic backdrops.
Lake Nakuru
Rhino & FlamingosA compact, wildlife-dense Rift Valley park - black and white rhino, tree-climbing lions and flamingo-fringed shores.
Samburu
The Wild NorthRugged, arid and uncrowded - home to the "Samburu Special Five" you won't see in the southern parks.
Best Time to Go on Safari
As a Kenya-based operator, Naeku Tours & Safaris runs trips every month of the year - there's no bad time to visit, only different seasons. Kenya's parks deliver Big Five game drives year-round, with the Great Migration crossing the Masai Mara from around July to October. Tap any month below to see what's happening.
Dry / Peak Season

Green Season
Lush landscapes, newborn animals, fewer crowds and lower rates. Excellent for birding and calving across the Mara and Amboseli.
Low / Rainy Season
Long rains bring the best value and quietest parks. Some remote camps close; ideal for budget-savvy travelers.
January
Green SeasonOne of the best months for predator action as wildebeest and zebra calve on the southern plains of the Mara and Amboseli. Warm, mostly dry weather with fewer crowds than peak season.
February
Green SeasonHot, dry conditions concentrate wildlife around water sources, making for excellent predator sightings across the Mara and Amboseli before the long rains begin.
March
Low / Rainy SeasonThe long rains begin, bringing lush green scenery and the lowest crowds and rates of the year. Roads can be muddy in remote areas, so travel is best with a 4x4.
April
Low / Rainy SeasonThe heart of the long rains. Dramatic skies, newborn wildlife, and by far the quietest parks and lowest accommodation rates of the year - some remote camps close for the month.
May
Low / Rainy SeasonRains begin easing toward the end of the month, leaving Kenya at its greenest. Ideal for budget-conscious travelers who don't mind the occasional shower.
June
Dry / Peak SeasonThe dry season sets in and the wildebeest migration starts moving north toward the Mara. Cool mornings and clear game viewing across all parks.
July
Dry / Peak SeasonThe Great Migration typically arrives in the Masai Mara, with dramatic river crossings possible from July onward. Book well ahead - this is peak season.
August
Dry / Peak SeasonPeak Migration season continues in the Mara with the best chance of dramatic Mara River crossings, alongside superb game viewing across every park on our circuits.
September
Dry / Peak SeasonThe migration herds remain in the Mara for much of September, with excellent predator action as resident lion and cheetah follow the herds.
October
Dry / Peak SeasonThe migration begins moving back south through the month, while dry conditions keep game viewing excellent across Amboseli and Lake Nakuru.
November
Green SeasonThe short rains freshen up the landscape after the dry season, bringing back the birdlife and greenery. Crowds and rates both drop from the October peak.
December
Green SeasonShort rains ease off and warm, mostly sunny days return in time for the festive season - a popular window for family safaris over the holidays.
